Fellowship 2024-2025 in Germany. This is a fully funded scholarship for a
period of 6 to 24 months. The Humboldt Research Fellowship is a prestigious
program offered by the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation to researchers from
around the world. This program allows researchers to conduct research of their
choice in Germany. Approximately 700 Humboldt Research Fellowships are awarded
annually to researchers from all over the world.
German nationals are not eligible for this
scholarship. This is a great opportunity for researchers. They will support you
in your research. As a fellow, you will benefit from the individual support of
the Humboldt Foundation and our diverse sponsorship portfolio. Each member
receives a monthly stipend, a mentor, health insurance, round-trip airfare,
family allowances and assistance with living expenses. Further details on the

Types of
community
There are two fellowship programs offered in
collaboration with a host at a German research institution of your choice.
For postdoctoral researchers: This program is
for researchers who have completed their PhD within the last four years.
Fellows can conduct research in Germany for 6 to 24 months
For experienced researchers: This program is
open to researchers who are further along in their career. Scholarships can
last from 6 to 18 months and can be divided into up to three stays of up to
three years.
Financial

Monthly stipend
€2,670 per month for postdoctoral researchers
€3,170 per month for experienced researchers
Contribution to conferences, research trips,
stays in the library, etc.
Health insurance
Flight tickets
Family allowances will be provided for
accompanying family members who stay here for at least three months.
A flat allowance will be provided for
accompanying children under 18 years of age.
The scholarship is open to all nationals except
German nationals.
Applicant must have at least a Ph.D. or PhD or
equivalent research experience.

through publications in internationally recognized, peer-reviewed journals and
publications.
A well-established research profile with a
strong list of academic and research achievements.

How to
apply for a Humboldt Research Fellowship?
The selection committee evaluates the
application in March, July and November. Applications are usually processed
within four to eight months.
