How does
the Vanier Canada Scholarship work?
The Vanier Canada Graduate Scholarship is
available at all Canadian universities. So, students must apply for a Vanier
CGS scholarship to a respected university. The university will then nominate an
applicant for the Vanier Graduate Scholarship.
Scholarship
worth
Scholars will be awarded a grant of $50,000
annually for three years. It is an opportunity to study Ph.D. at your own
required Canadian institution.

Eligibility
criteria
Canadian citizens, Canadian permanent residents
and foreign nationals are eligible.
Be nominated by only one Canadian institution
that must receive a Vanier CGS quota
Complete your first doctoral degree (including
joint programs such as MD/PhD, DVM/PhD or JD/PhD, MBA/PhD – if it has a proven
and significant research component).
The applicant must have a first class average
in the last two years of study.

Vanier CGS quota.
You cannot directly apply for a Vanier
scholarship. You must apply to Canadian universities that fall under Vanier
Canada. Candidates must be nominated by the institution.
The Vanier CGS application can be submitted
online through ResearchNet.
Each university has its own deadline, so you
must check with the university.
You can only apply to ONE University for
Vanier. The university will evaluate your profile and nominate you.
Then Vanier will make the final decision.
