MOFA Taiwan Fellowship 2025 Fully Funded by Foreign Affairs

Applications for MOFA Taiwan Fellowship 2025 are open. The scholarship is established and funded by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Taiwan. This is a fully funded scholarship for international foreign professors, associate professors, assistant professors, postdoctoral researchers, doctoral candidates, or doctoral students to conduct research at universities or academic institutions in Taiwan. Research must be related to Taiwan, cross-strait relations, the Asia-Pacific region, and Sinology (Chinese studies).

More than 1,400 researchers from more than 93 countries have been recruited by 2024. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs will cover the cost of a return flight, a high monthly stipend, accidents and medical care. The duration of the MOFA Taiwan Fellowship is from 3 to 12 months. The scholarship will commence in January 2025. Further details on the eligibility requirements and application process are given below.

Financial benefits

Aifare Economy Class Ticket to/from Taiwan (Direct Route)

Monthly contributions are paid at the beginning of each month.

Professors, associate professors, researchers or associate researchers: NT$60,000

Assistant professors, research assistants or PhD candidates: NT$50,000.

Accident insurance (plus health insurance in case of accident).

This scholarship is open to professors, associate professors, research assistants or research associates, assistant professors, research assistants, and doctoral students.

 

Research must be related to Taiwan, cross-strait relations, the Asia-Pacific region, and Sinology.

2 letters of recommendation (or one letter of recommendation and one letter of approval from the principal administrator of your institute).

Applicants should first submit the online application form. Applicants should print their completed application form and send the application along with the above documents to the Taiwan embassy or consulate or representative office in the country nearest to their residence by post.
